bones are in the cemetery in Nazca, scattered around by grave-robbers who
stole anything they could sell. Perhaps I have led a sheltered life, but I
cannot ever remember seeing human bones scattered around a landscape.
The top photo also shows how dry this area is, one of the driest on earth. Except in the river valleys and where there is irrigation, one can travel for miles without seeing the smallest plant. |
