This is the rugged shoreline of South Plaza Islet, one of the Galápagos Islands. At the top of the cliff is a bachelor colony of sea lions. If I hadn't seen it myself, I wouldn't have believed it, but these seemingly awkward animals are able to climb up that cliff! How they can do it with flippers is a mystery, but they managed. In so doing, they build up their strength in preparation for the big moment when they decide to take on the dominant bull, who is enjoying the prime beach on the other side of the island. In the meantime, they fight among themselves just to keep in practice.
